| Wawel Villa was first
thought of forty years ago when a number of members
of the Polish community began thinking about where
they will live and how they will be looked after in
their golden years.
As the name suggests, Wawel Villa is named after
the Grande Castle of Polish kings in Krakow, Poland.
While rooted in Polish tradition, our services are
open to all seniors.
Wawel Villa Inc was established in 1968 as a charitable
non-profit organization with the express purpose of
providing affordable living for seniors.
In 1978 the first senior’s residence with 57
beds was opened on Bloor Street West in Toronto and
was operated until 1997.
In 1982 our present 92 room charitable senior’s
residence, located on a picturesque 3 ½ acre
ravine lot in south-west Mississauga was opened. The
home is in the village of Clarkson just steps away
from public transportation, and the shops and restaurants
of Lakeshore Road West.
In 1996 our 76 unit Senior’s supportive apartment
housing project also in south west Mississauga began
operations. Plans are underway to expand the Wawel
Villa continuum
